Rapture during Feast of trumpets

Postby josh6780 » Fri Sep 30, 2016 12:52 pm

What is with all this rapture and feast of trumpets? Is there any actual scripture to support this?

Good question, Josh.

The idea seems very popular.

You can see one attempt to support this idea here: https://goo.gl/rsaqSl
I completely disagree.

Haven't watched all the videos, yet, but did see on the page a reference to the "no man knows the day of the hour..." and thought, perhaps they are mistakenly confusing the Pre-Trib Rapture with the Post-Trib Rapture since Jesus used the phrase to refer to a time that is after the Tribulation)?

    Mark 13:24-33 King James Version
"But in those days, AFTER THAT TRIBULATION, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken. And then shall they see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. And then shall He send His angels, and shall gather together His elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of Heaven.

"Now learn a parable of the fig tree; when her branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is near: so ye in like manner, when ye shall see these things come to pass, know that it is nigh, even at the doors.

"Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done. Heaven and Earth shall pass away: but My words shall not pass away. BUT OF THAT DAY AND THAT HOUR KNOWETH NO MAN, no, not the angels which are in Heaven, neither the Son, but the Father. Take ye heed, watch and pray: FOR YE KNOW NOT WHEN THE TIME IS."

If it is true what they say about the time being unknowable being an idiom for the Feast, it makes a little more sense to me than it did before.

Matthew 24:36, But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

Have I become your enemy, because I tell you the truth.

I'll be a fool for truth's sake. Truth is fallen in the street. I wont pass it by. I'll pick it up and embrace it regardless of the costs.

The Feast of Trumpets cannot be a time indicator for the rapture because:

#1 the rapture can come at any time, according to Paul's teaching in his letters

#2 the Feasts were celebrations given to Israel, not the Church. The rapture deals with the Church, not Israel. God's renewed focus on "Israel according to the flesh" (1 Cor 10:18) comes after the Church has been raptured.

#3 the typology of the Feast of Trumpets will be fulfilled in conjunction with the Second Coming when the nation of Israel is gathered in at her conversion (Matt. 24:31), prior to the judgment described in Matthew 25. Traditional Judaism has always taught that Judgment Day would be announced by blasts of the shofar.
