Where did the thief on the cross went when he died ???
 He certainly never had time to live a changed life, as SPD seems to suggest.
On the contrary, he did live a crucified life from that moment until his death.

He was quite literally crucified with Christ.

He never lived a crucified life at all. He was crucified for his crimes, he was a sinner, all he did was ask Christ to remember him when He comest into His kingdom (Luke 23:42). Thats not living a crucified life, thats a last minute remorse and Christ forgave him by saying, "To day shalt thou be with me in paradise." (Luke 23:43).

Galatians 4: 16, Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?

The thief was saved by faith in Jesus as the Massiah.
It was revealed to him by Father God.

For ALL the promises of God in Him are YES, and in Him AMEN, unto the glory of God by us.

He was literally crucified and still on the cross when he admitted that his punishment was just and asked Christ to remember him.

He did not get off that cross and go back into sin. Nor did he attempt to escape the just penalty for his sins. Like Zacchaeus, he knew that the temporal penalty must be paid if possible and he was willing and able to pay it just as Zacchaeus was willing and able to fulfil the demands of the law by giving to the poor and repaying "any thing" he'd "taken" "by false accusation... fourfold" (Luke 19:1-10). Neither Zacchaeus nor the thief relied upon tears alone.

Yes, however his faith was not dead, without works.

He publicly admitted he was a sinner and was willing to pay the earthly price for what he had done and he even preached to his fellow thief.

This is not a case of tears alone.

You do NOT believe in salvation by grace through faith.Ephesians 2:8-9

You think the thief was working his way in next to the Lord Jesus Christ.

When that thief trusted in Jesus Christ he was saved.

You are mistaken, Billy.

I most assuredly believe in salvation by grace, through faith, not of works, but unto good works.
Ephesians 2:4-10 King James Version
But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
When God saves a person, He has already ordained that there are good works that they should do. Case in point, the thief produced good works. These good works were "before ordained" by God for the thief to perform.

Where there is no opportunity for such works, then it is clear that God did not "before ordain" such a person to perform such works. And, that in and of itself is strong evidence that the person was not saved by grace, through faith, not of works, but unto good works. People are saved unto pre-ordained good works. If such works are not produced, we have every right to question their salvation. In fact, if we believe the Bible, we are required to.

Some folks wait until it is too late, when no place of repentance remains (Hebrews 12:17).

"He sought to change his fathers mind". note q DARB .

NIV 1984 Hebrews 12:16-17

16 See that no one is sexually immoral or is godless like Esau ,who for a single meal sold his inheritance 17 Afterward,as you know,he wanted to inherit this blessing ,he was rejected,he could bring about no change of mind though he sought the blessing with tears.

NIV 1984 please see notes in NIV Study Bible .
