I think what you miss is you can love an individual and applaud them for the good the do, but at the same time stand against their false doctrine.
This is what I have constantly maintained. The love of God never negates truth of His word. It is the false doctrines that one must stand against, no matter WHO teaches and preaches them whether it be John Hagee or Billy Graham.
What did Paul say about such things? I think many of these preachers would attempt to correct God. I remember a pastor telling a story about a preacher that agreed that such and such was indeed taught in the bible, but he wasn't going to teach it in his church even though he knew it was right!
Peter was on a dangerous path with the circumcision issue and Paul knew it. I remember once telling someone you can put all the icing you want on chicken crap and make it look good, but chicken crap is still under the icing!
