I guess you forgot that we already covered that in your Flat-Earth thread.

Some Flat-Earthers believe that the RCC promoted the idea of the globe in order to oppose the Reformers, who were supposedly Flat-Earthers. According to this theory, the Jesuits of the RCC promoted the globe in an attempt to convince people that the Bible, as a Flat-Earth book, wasn't enough to base faith on without the True Pillar and Ground of Truth.

Essentially, according to this position, you guys who rejected the biblically-based Flat-Earth position are unwittingly supporting the subversive work of the RCC against Protestantism.

Of course they do. That's not under dispute.

Here's what Martin Luther taught about water baptism...

"Baptism is no human plaything but is instituted by God himself. Moreover, it is solemnly and strictly commanded that we must be baptized or we shall not be saved. We are not to regard it as an indifferent matter, then, like putting on a new red coat. It is of the greatest importance that we regard baptism as excellent, glorious, and exalted" (Large Catechism 4:6).

For what I can tell, Huldrych Zwingli wa in favor of infant baptism, too, but didn't believe in baptismal regeneration.

So, the Reformers seem o have been for infant baptism.

Thus the Catechism of the Catholic Church states: "Those who die for the faith, those who are catechumens, and all those who, without knowing of the Church but acting under the inspiration of grace, seek God sincerely and strive to fulfill his will, are saved even if they have not been baptized" (CCC 1281; the salvation of unbaptized infants is also possible under this system; cf. CCC 1260–1, 1283).

But you've asked a great question, Billy. :angel:

The Catholic Church teaches that:

I don't believe you know what they teach, Haz. Nor do I understand why you seem to enjoy spreading easily disproved fasehoods about them.

If you don't believe in Baptismal Regeneration, fine. I can understand that. But, I don't get your need to spread misinformation about RCC beliefs, no matter how evil the RCC may be. If anything, such tactics ultimately help the RCC when folks realize the dishonesty of those opposing the RCC.

I don't know what they teach???

They taught us this from 1952 until I left the church, that's what I know.

We were taught as a children from 1952 on that the priest can and does change the wafer of bread into the literal body of Christ, and the wine into Christs literal blood. That teaching was bashed into us a children over and over and over again, and it never changed right through school and high school. It was still believed by all catholics in our parish until the day I left, and as far as I know its still believed this way. Disregarding all I have said so far, this alone proves to me at least, that the catholic church is a farce. God gave no man the power or authority to change bread and wine into Jesus Christ.

And confessing to a priest and doing penance that he orders, saying the rosary, kissing the bishops ring, which I did many times, kneeling before statues, praying to dead people, they teach and believe that Christ instituted seven sacraments of the new law, and these are the seven: Baptism, Confirmation (or Chrismation), what that is I still don't know, the Eucharist, another man made lie, Penance, as if Christs suffering and death was not enough, the Anointing of the sick, Holy Orders and Matrimony. and they teach and believe Mary is the mother of "GOD" is also a farce.

We were taught that if we ate meat on Fridays we would burn in Hell for eternity, if we missed mass on Sunday we would burn in Hell for eternity, if we took communion with even the slightest sin not confessed to the priest, we would burn in eternal Hell??? If this is not teaching today, then so what? It was then and we suffered for it, "AND GOD DOES NOT CHANGE," they do all the time.

I don't care if they have changed and I doubt they have because when I attend on invitation of close family relatives, they still sprinkle a dribble of water on babies who re only a few months old and wouldn't know what day it is let alone repent of sins, and the church is still of huge statues of Mary, a dead Jesus on the cross, stations of the cross all around the church, a huge tray of candles which people light and place before the statue of Mary, they fall upon their knees and pray before this statue believing mary will intercede for them, instead of Jesus being their mediator, it is filled with and reeks of paganism. How about this, a 7 foot high pole with a red light burning 24/7 next to the alter. I once asked the priest what this was for, the nun answered and said it shows us that Christ is in the tabernacle waiting for the priest to say mass. I walked in one day and saw the light was out. I told the priest it was out and he said, no matter we will top the lamp up tomorrow before mass???? That lamp is still there only a newer on.

This is the catholic church;

Mark 7:8 "For laying aside the commandment of God, you hold the tradition of men, [as] the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things you do."

Matt. 15:6 “…and you have made void the commandment of God for your tradition.”

I used to go into a little confessional, a wire gause screen separates me from the priest, I kneel down, bless myself and say;

Bless me father, its been 6 weeks since my last confession.

And what are your sins my son?

Well father, I did this and that and something else.

How often did you do this my son?

Nearly every day father.

Who with my son?

I tell him.

He askes, Is thatall my son?

I answer, LYING, Yes father, I'm too scared to tell him the truth.

Then he says: BY THE POWER INVESTED IN ME, I ABSOLVE YOU OF YOUR SINS, FOR YOUR PENNANCE SAY 50 HAIL MARIES.

The 50 hail Maries is supposed to cover my sins in case Christs sacrifice was not enough????

What a load of garbage that was year in and year out until I realised what a crock it truly was.

I now go directly to the Father, IN JESUS HOLY NAME, and tell Him everything, without fear, knowing I am forgiven by the blood of Jesus, not by some sinner just like me waving the sign of the cross over me through the screen.

Have I become your enemy, because I tell you the truth.

I'll be a fool for truth's sake. Truth is fallen in the street. I wont pass it by. I'll pick it up and embrace it regardless of the costs.
