There have been about 210 FREE books for a couple of years now, so depending on when you last accessed your free books, if you have them all or not.

PROBLEM - Right now WordSearch is experiencing a problem when you access their site within your WordSearch program. It takes yo there but does not tell you which books you have or don't have. Hope they get this fixed soon, but they have given no date on fixing it.

I have been having to use a virtual machine to run the old version of WordSearch I have with Windows XP. My computer uses Windows 7 and is 64 bit. I just got off the phone with them and bought an upgrade to WordSearch 10 for $29.95. They told me that I would still be able to use the Dake Bible.
GREAT! What version of WordSearch did yuo have??? 5 ?

I would be interested in know if you can connect to the WordSearch Web with it showing the listing of books that you own?

Enjoy.

I heard Swaggart say that he reads through the Bible every year and he uses the Dake's Bible each time. I always thought Swaggart was a great evangelist but his teaching lacked the anointing or authority. He's better when he sticks to what God has called him to do. I hated when he got involved in the Jim Bakker and Marvin Gorman and finally, his own scandals.

I am going to buy an Expositor's Study Bible though. Looks very good.

There are so many excellent study materials available for free on the web now. It is great! When I run across a passage of scripture I want more light on, after going to Dake, I pull out my Jamieson, Faucett and Brown commentary. John McArthur has a pretty decent commentary but I've only look through it a few times and I'm not sure how he stands on spiritual things.
I do own an Expositor's Study Bible it is very similar doctrinally to Dakes commentary not really in format, but you can really tell Swaggart used the Dake Bible quiet a bit in his commentary, especially concerning the dispensations and the pre-adamites. What I do love about the Expositors Bible is were the commentary is located, and the emphasis on faith in what Christ did on the cross as a means of justification and sanctification...
Well on the similarity of the Dake Bible and the Expositor's Bible... there was a law suit and they settled out of court.
Swaggart promised to NOT print anymore without giving Dake credit.
That is when the first set of the commentaries where in one format and then he change them into a different format.
A pre-Dake and post-Dake Expositors commentary.

I have the Bible and a few of the commentaries. and on the Bible I really wish he had put the notes at the bottom or the side. Some of them get long and placed in the Scripture sort of get s me off track... But that is just me.
Wow I was not aware of a law suit I would love to see the pre-Dake format Expositors Bible. In what way was it changed? And yeah concerning the location of the commentary Expositors notes, it did take some getting used to.

Yes, the original version I have of WordSearch is 5. It just wouldn't work on Windows 7 64 bit, even when I set the compatibility to Windows XP, so I just purchased the upgrade to WordSearch 10. I downloaded all those books that are available free. Took awhile for them to download. Also, to keep my Dake's notes, they had to give me an account number and password to make it work.

Version 10 certainly isn't as simple as my old one. There is going to be a huge learning curve. I may still fire up the virtual machine and use version 5, just for the simplicity.

Not exactly sure what you are asking. Are you asking if WordSearch will detect what books I have installed when I go on the web from the WordSearch program? If you are, I'm not able to tell. I've got lots to learn.

Leon, I do not know why I didn't download more books before this but thanks for the reminder. I downloaded A.W. Pink and Andrew Murray...

Does anyone use the "verse list" and "word processor" in constructing sermons or teaching? I never have - I use word document and copy and paste and that sort of thing. I guess if you would utilize the "in house" stuff on the program it would be easier in transition etc. Anybody do this??

Hey Jay,

If you go to the "help" tab and select "add on books" it will take you to the WordSearch site. Well when it use to do that... it would "on their site" tell you which books you had in your library... now it does not work on WordSearch 9. Still go there but it just does not alert you to what you have already purchased.

Something else which is interesting is the "Web" tab is lists of Helpful Sites - Audio preaching sites - Pastoral helps etc.
