i know that you speaketh the truth.
you ARE a minister a Reverend not some lackey like me!!!!! ADMIT IT MATE!!!!!Haz i adore him...he is me mate and he told me what arock you were in every way.

ill say this after being genuinely saved water baptised and Spirit filled i can smell or sense heresy a mile away.
i was in the best Church in OHIO at that time.my Pastor was the BEST.
many times on here id stoke tease yank on chains test patience just to get debate going.
my late Pastor was a DAKE MAN.we were never led into the ditch.
macca wrote:Sure Ed, I went 'right on' while the priest was molesting my sister? And right on when he told the wafer is God and I have to eat him.
And right on when the AOG pastor said there is none righteous no not one of you.
And when the Baptist pastor said that healing is NOT in the atonement and if you believe it is, you are a heretic.
Taking your advice is how all the free thinkers have split from the original church, it's why we have a set number of books in our bibles.
Every aberration that Christians have come up with is because they have believed God has shown them a new revelation that no one has had before.
You can not stand the fact that Hagin and Dake are my mentors, fathers in the faith.
Even Paul said, follow me as I follow Jesus.
Do you believe I should take advice from someone else because Paul could be wrong.?

Don't miss my point. My point is obviously what ever we are "in" right now is the truth and everything else is missing that truth.

But there is only one truth and that is Word of God. All else must line up with that truth or it is a falsehood. Whatever man get involved in is going to stray from the truth by the fact we are not yet in our perfected bodies.
So all I'm saying is don't make a blanket statement about anyone person or commentary as being perfect they aren't. The only perfection you can hold today is unaltered word of God.

And Phillip ran up to the Ethiopian and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, do you understand what you are reading?

Jesus being glorifed, he will have the answers to the unuttered questions in your heart that you have been praying to God alone about.
He will confirm the word with signs following
Acts chapter 10 is a good example

I think you advice above is EXCELLENT!

As you know the catholic church is filled with heresies and what a Pastor says makes no difference unless it lines up with the BIBLE.

That is the reason I like the Dake Bible so much, no commentary, no opinions of man,... just Scripture and references that point you to other Scripture!
Hi Bibleman,
Do you believe Dake is not a man?
Do you have a Dake Bible Ray?
I would have to agree with the point Brother Ray is making, Rev. Bible. As great as Dake's Bible is (and I would say that it's easily the BEST study Bible ever compiled) it does contain Rev. Dake's opinions. He backs them up with plenty of Scripture, but his presuppositions (dispensational premillenialism and pentecostalism) qualify as opinions. As a Penetecostal I don't object to almost all of them, and we don't need to keep rehashing the things we don't agree about  . I agree with everyone who's said here that the best way to study Scripture is to read it, and to use the Scriptures to explain themselves. In addition to my main Dake Bible, I constantly use my old Hebrew-Greek Key Study Bible. I have at least 40 or 50 others, but these are the two that I use the most. One thing, and I've been more guilty of it than most, is that we tend to focus on disagreements in our discussions. I enjoy a friendly debate, but let's not lose our focus on the fact that we're ALL simply searching for the truth.

Not a problem ninecrows,

Just making the point that Ray is criticizing something he has not read and knows little about (The Dake Bible).

The fault in Bible complications is not with God or the Bible, but with men who refuse to believe what God says and think we have to interpret what He says in order to get the meaning. Dake Bible -Mark 11:17 note

Ah and I agree Jesus did give teachers to teach us. But your example of the Ethiopian forgets that the complete bible was not yet finished so the Ethiopian did need assistance.

However we now have the Bible but teachers are still needed. However many today that claim to teach scripture instead teach their own brand of theology. How do we know when someone is teaching their theology instead of the truth of God?

Actually there are a number of ways. First is the teacher teaching expositorically (not sure if that is a real word) or topically? Expository teaching is the only true way to teach the truth of the word of God.

Another way to detect truth is when the teacher uses scripture to support his teaching and doesn't try to say God has shown me this. Or I was given a vision and this is what this passage means. God’s word is complete and doesn't need visions or personal prophecy to be revealed.

Another method is to check motives. A true teacher freely gives what we freely given to him. When people start to produce something to sell I wonder at their motives. Does selling something always make a person wrong? No and that is not what I'm saying. I'm saying we always need to check motive.

Lastly the invention of revelation should be always held in caution. For the most part scripture can be plainly understood when read as written. There are some difficult passages, some passages with underlying meanings and allegory or less obvious in meaning passages. However I get really nervous when a "teacher” begins teaching a "new" revelation.

My first question is why did God allow this to remain hidden for 2000 years only to reveal it now? If it is important to Christian today it would have been important to a Christian 2000 years ago. Or do we believe the Holy Spirit our ultimate teachers was unaware of it until just now?

Let me sum this all up. A "Teacher" should be an expositor not an inventor.
