Re: Salvation NOT for the Disobedient

http://dakebibleboard.com/images/smilies/pi_thumbsup.gif Agreed. "There is no 'sense' in which GRACE is earned, for God has given everyone a measure of faith, grace earned is never grace." So then, what is faith? The hardest work a man will ever do is believe. So let me see if got what some are imp...

Re: Salvation NOT for the Disobedient

Lunchnia "What about the WORK of faith that one must do? That is much harder work than the work of the law. Grace has never saved anyone that did not go through the hard work of faith. In a sense, grace is earned through faith. Many throw down on the "saved by grace, leaving the faith part out and ...

Re: Salvation NOT for the Disobedient

What gets one saved keeps one saved! Let me see if I am right in my thinking that you belief that one cannot fall once saved. In other words the work of believing faith that the individual placed in the work of the grace of God will keep that person saved even if they fall from that very grace they...

Re: Salvation NOT for the Disobedient

Interesting theology, salvation is by faith, not works, but losing salvation is by works. So there is nothing I can do to "earn" salvation, but yet those same actions are strong enough to lose it. You might ought to talk that over with God! Revelation 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the ...

Re: Is there a literal Hell?

If you do not believe in hell just say so. I know its popular today to deny hell. :splat: :splat: :splat: The Scriptures and Church history, the early fathers,Church tradition have taught a real literal awful fiery place called hell for over 2,000 ++ years. Re: Is there a literal Hell?

Actually the Lord does tell the punishment " Depart from me ye cursed INTO EVERLASTING FIRE PREPARED FOR THE DEVIL AND HIS ANGELS " Matthew 25 verse 41. How does this verse tell the punishment? This text only states to depart into everlasting fire. There is nothing there about what the punishment i...

Re: Is there a literal Hell?

Why doesn't this verse resolve the question as to whether or not there is everlasting punishment? Matthew 25:46 King James Version "And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal." I don't think there is a question as to whether or not there is everlasting ...

Re: Is there a literal Hell?

Eternal life is primarily a quality of life, not necessarily a duration. Great point! I think it is crucial to understanding the "what" about eternal life. The term "quality" or "value" of life is important. I also think of the term "living" when thinking about this. An example to me is saved = lif...
